Sweet Sheep: Free amigurumi crochet pattern

Sweet Sheep
Designed by Dusti Rose Hendricks
Sheep Of Delight Crochet
I’ve been wanting to make a sheep to go with my logo for a while, but I couldn’t get the wool to look the way I wanted it until now.  Using Back Loop Only stitches leaves you with a nice row of unworked loops that can be embellished later.  Try experimenting with it in designs of your own.

Finish off with a sl st and weave in ends.  This is the bottom of the sheep’s body.  Turn the body right-side up. The BLO stitches have left a spiral of unworked loops.  Anchor into the first loop by inserting the hook from the top to the bottom. Yarn over and pull through.  Then yarn over and pull through.  Insert the hook into the original loop again; yarn over and pull through.  You should now have two loops on your hook.  Yarn over and pull through both loops to form the first single crochet of Rnd 11.
Rnd 11: (Sc 2, Sl St, Hdc, Sl st) rep 32 times around (160 sts)
Finishing-
Sew the Head Cap to the back of the head.  Position it high enough that you can see three of the lobes above the top of the head.  Use Black yarn to make French knot eyes on either side of the face and a mouth if you want one.  The legs should be sewn to the bare space at the bottom of the body; the arms should be sewn between two layers of the wool on either side of the body.  The tail goes on the back of the body near the bottom.  Then sew the bottom of the head to the top of the body to complete your Sweet Sheep.
