One Last Cozy...

...before Easter comes and I take a few weeks off to work on a blog revamp.  Speaking of which, if you have any suggestions for what you'd like to see on my blog or features you'd appreciate, please, let me know.  And without further ado...

Funny Frog Egg Cozy

Supplies:

                Cotton Yarn (Green, Black, White)

                Crochet hook (Size F-3.75MM)

                Scissors

Needle

Plastic Easter Egg, normal size (I buy the ones from Walmart)

Gauge: 4.5 sts per inch. Adjust as needed to get your cozy to fit your egg.

Cozy Top

Use green yarn

Rnd 1: Sc 5 in magic ring OR Sc 2, Sc 5 in the 2^nd chain from the hook

Rnd 2: Inc in each of the 5 sts (10 sts)

Rnd 3: [Inc in one st, Sc in the next] rep 5 times around (15 sts)

Rnd 4: Sc 15 (15 sts)

Rnd 5: [Inc, Sc in each of the next 2 stitches] rep 5 times (20 sts)

Rnd 6: Sc 20 (20 sts)

Rnd 7: [Inc, Sc 4] rep 4 times (24 sts)

Rnds 8-9: Sc 24 (24 sts)

Finish off.  Weave in ends.

Cozy Bottom

Use green yarn.

Rnd 1: Sc 6 in magic ring OR Sc 2, Sc 6 in the 2^nd chain from the hook

Rnd 2: Inc 6 (12 sts)

Rnd 3: [Inc, Sc] rep 3 times around (18 sts)

Rnd 4: [Inc, Sc 8] rep 2 times around (20 sts)

Rnd 5: Sc 20 (20 sts)

Rnd 6: [Inc, Sc 9] rep 2 times around (22 sts)

Rnd 7: [Inc, Sc 10] rep 2 times around (24 sts)

Rnd 8: Working in the Front Loops Only: Sc 15.  Leave the rest of the sts in the row unworked.

Sl st to finish off.  Sew the top and bottom cozy pieces together, sewing the unworked sts of the last round on the bottom to corresponding sts on the top cozy.

Eyes

Use white.  Make 2.

Rnd 1: Sc 5 in magic ring OR Sc 2, Sc 5 in the 2^nd chain from the hook

Rnd 2: Inc in each of the 5 sts (10 sts)

Rnd 3: Sc 10.

Finish off and weave in ends.  Use black yarn to stitch pupils.  Sew the eyes to the head.  Feel free to experiment with positioning; moving the eyes around gives the frog a whole range of expressions.

Front Feet

Use green yarn.  Make 2.

Rnd 1: Sc 5 in magic ring OR Sc 2, Sc 5 in the 2^nd chain from the hook

Rnd 2:  In the first two sts, work 2 Hdc each.  Leave remaining sts unworked.

Finish off.  Sew to the front bottom of the frog.

Back Feet

Use green yarn.  Make 2.

Rnd 1: Sc 5 in magic ring OR Sc 2, Sc 5 in the 2^nd chain from the hook

Rnd 2: In the first st: (Hdc, ch 2, Dc 2).  In the second st: (Dc 2, ch 2, sl st)

Finish off.  Sew to the back bottom of the frog.
