Happy New Year, everybody! I’m praying for a year of blessing and bounty
in 2015. How about you? Some of my favorite memories of last year are
the trips I took with my cousin to all the local zoos in our area. With all the amazing animals we saw, I have
to admit that some of our favorites were the baby pigs. (What can I say, we’re farm kids). I decided I’d design one for my first pattern
of the New Year. Enjoy, and let me know
what you think.

Finishing-
Remember when assembling
your piglet that the part of the neck that is most severely narrowed is the
back of the neck/ top of the pig. Also,
the top of the snout is the last portion you decreased BLO in Rnd 5. Thread a needle with black yarn and knot
it. Draw the knot into the body of the
pig and draw it out where you want the first eye. Make a small stitch; draw the yarn through
the head and back out at the desired position of the second eye. Make another small stitch and draw through
the head and back out the first eye position to slightly narrow the face. Make French knot eyes in both positions and
then stitch on the piglet’s mouth.
Using Pastel Pink yarn,
position and sew the ears toward the rear of the head, the tail to the back of
the piglet, and the legs underneath, taking special care with the positioning
of the legs so that the weight of its head doesn’t make it pitch forward on its
nose. Then you’re finished! Have fun with your Lucky Lil’ Piglet and
enjoy your new year!
too cute
