In honor of Earth Day, I decided to do some experimentation with plarn, plastic yarn made from recycled plastic shopping bags. I found really simple directions for making plarn (along with a lot of other really cool patterns and information at plasticbagcrafts.com here. Also, check out my Pinterest boards under Crochet Fun and Recycled Craft Ideas for more plarn pictures and ideas.

near the top center and the large horn below it. If you have trouble using the plarn to sew,
feel free to use thread to attach pieces.
Then use black yarn to make French knot eyes.
Have you created something else interesting or intriguing out of plarn? Feel free to send me photos. I'd love to start a plarn gallery. Be sure to include links to the original designer if the pattern you use is not your own.
